Regarding Global Warming

In my previous article about myself and this Blog, I briefly stated the following:

"I am here to tell the Environmentalists to take their version Global Warming and shove it! Yes, Global Warming is a Fact, but its a Natural Cycle... And we're coming up on the peak of the next cycle! We are wasting our Time and Money on trying to reduce Man's Carbon Footprint when it will do nothing for Mankind's survival through the Heat until the Ice Age that will follow. Global Warming as its defined by the Left is an Environmentalist Scare Tactic to acheive their Agenda, for better or worse. I agree that Cleaning up the Environment and alternative clean fuels is a good thing, but I'm a Conservationist... Not a Radical Environmentalist. We just don't know how hot it will get before the down swing, and we need to have provisions in place for both extremes."

Now, I'm back to ellaborate.

Yes, Global Warming is a Fact of Nature; however, so is Global Cooling. Both sides are right, but they only spin it to suit themselves and their agenda. Neither side will paint a complete picture that makes sense because they are either focused on their own agenda or not well informed. Its happened before repeatedly, and the Geological record proves it. In the 4.5 BILLION years of Earth's existance, Mankind's impact is a mear blink of an eye. Since the last great Tectonic Land shift that brought us the familiar Continental Geography, the Geological Record shows a period of about 100 Thousand Years between Global Warming and Mass Ice Age cycles. Coincidentally, the Ice Age Cycle immediately follows the Global Warming peak. Just look at most 5th Grade Science Books to find a paragraph on the "Natural Cycle" followed by two or more pages on "Manmade Global Warming" refuted pages before in a paragraph.

They point to the disappearing Glaciers as evidence of Mankind's influence, but they cannot give you evidence of Mankind's impact IF we did not become Industrialized. I see a bigger picture that shows Global Warming as a matter of coincidence and timing that Industrialization occurred on the heals of a waning Medieval Mini-Ice Age. In fact, the global temperature was rising long before industrialization. It was rising since the dawn of man with periods of mini-Ice Ages inbetween huge peaks and deep freezes.

We know from the Geological Record about how cold the main and mini Ice Ages were from the physical specimans extracted like Mammoth's and Pre-Historic Man; however, what the Geological Record does not show is how HOT the Cycle's peak is going to get. We can only tell that MOST of the Planet was a lush, tropical Rain Forest because of Fossil records showing Tropical Plants and Animal life far into the more Temporate Northern Latitudes of today. So I would hazzard a guess that it could get as least as hot and humid as the Amazon Jungle.

It is believed that the Oxygen Rich atmosphere of ages past lead to the enormous size of previous inhabitants - Dinosaurs. Only through Earth's natural Modulation of the environment have we come to this balance that has allowed mankind to evolve and flourish as Volcanism has slowed allowing Oxygen levels to rise once again. I would even theorize that this has contributed to the increased average size of the Human race in both Height and Girth over them past millenia. Its not just better food and medicine, its more abundant food available and an Oxygen rich atmosphere. The truth is, no one really knows all these variables, but they can easily home in on a set of them and use them to meet their own agenda.

Let's be realistic. Mankind has survived one such cycle, and we will again. We are a very adaptive specimen of Biology, and it will be Survival of the Fittest. There will be losses of life not fit to cope or adapt to the naturally changing climate. Possibly Mankind again will take another evolutionary leap, and maybe the present rise in Tumours, Cancers, and other "Genetically Predisposed" Diseases are signs that Mankind is continuing to evolve. This may not be our final evolutionary state. Simple case in point, the "Birth Defect" of being born with Six Fingers/Toes or with Webbed Fingers/Toes. Are these recessive genes some ancient evolutionary throw back, or have they been a subtle sign of Mankind's evolution to come? Know one knows, but since its outside the Norm its medically perceived as an abnormality and treated as a Disease.

I think we are wasting our time and money on trying to prevent or reverse what is a Naturally occurring cycle based on Fear... Fear of what is to come and not facing facts that we must prepare ourselves for what will come regardless of our actions. We really should be putting our resources into preparing for the Survival of Mankind through the coming natural Climate Temperature Peak and the subsequent Climate Temperature Low. We need to think outside the box in order to do so, but one good thing is that we have time since it will not happen overnight without the introduction of a huge variable.

That variable could come in the form of an Astronomical or Geological Event such as Meteor Impact or Increased Volcanism from the Earth's core. As we are learning from the Dinosaur Extinction of 65 Million years ago, it was quite possibly both events simultaneously that brought about their Extinction.

So really, do we prepare for Earth's survival or just Mankind's. I say we need to prepare both, but Mankind's Survival should not be contingent on Earth's. We should be looking to leave the shores of this planet to seek out and colonize others. As Carl Sagan and Arthur C Clark have implied, Man's future is among the Stars. And, as George Carlin said "The planet'll shake us off like a bad case of fleas." Well, we need to be prepared to be shaken off so we have someplace to go.

The Biblical "Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse" are not physical beings to bring about the end of Mankind, they are metaphors for what will. They are literally War, Famine, Pestilance, and Death... An Extinction Level Event and/or the Natural Cycle of the Earth will facilitate these events, and will be driven by Mankind's inherant need to go to War for its survival and control of resources. And as the Climate continues to change naturally for the worse, the other three will follow in short order. Even if we aren't hit with a rock from space or some stellar blast, it will still happen through the Natural Cycle and the Population of the Earth will be deminished to Pre-Historic levels just as the Bible implies, if we survive at all. My greatest Fear is that even if Mankind could survive the upheaval, that someone with a Scortched Earth Policy will Nuke the planet to oblivion in the process, and that's why WMD's need to be dismantled Globally.

Yes, we should continue researching and implementing "Greener" policies, but they need to be cost-effective and reliable. Not just a "Feel Good" technologies like Hybrid vehicles which I think are a joke. Sure they run Greener, but the manufacturing and assembly process creates more of a "Carbon Footprint" than the lifecyle of many Petroleum run SUV's. They are also expensive and not readily affordable to the average consumer; therefore, they are more of a Status Symbol for the more afluent. One of the things I think we need to do is overhaul the Power Infrastructure with more Efficient Power Facilities, and Appliances & Utilities that run on less power so we need fewer Power Plants. Case in point, homes run on 110/220V in the US, yet we have numerous home appliances made that can run on a 12V supply for use in Automobiles and RV's. Why aren't we adapting these more energy efficient technologies for integration into the Home?

The Natural Cycle is inevitable, unstoppable, and not the fault of Mankind. Stop talking down to the people and guilt tripping them like children into thinking WE are at fault. We aren't! What is the fault of Mankind is our inability to come together and peacefully take the necessary steps to enable us to survive on our own terms. Its easy to point fingers, its difficult to step up to the plate and admit when your wrong before its too late when the facts are staring you right in the face.

We should instead set the record straight by not calling it "Global Warming", we should call it "Climate Shift". The Climate is approaching a natural peak in temperature that will bring about the natural shift in global climate with the high potential for Ice Age conditions in the higher Latitudes. We don't know how hot it will get or how quickly this shift will occur, but it will not be overnight like some doom-n-gloom movies like "The Day After Tomorrow" portray, but the shift will not be gradual from a Geological point of view as the record already shows.

Now they want to give Al Gore the Nobel Peace Prize based on his Global Warming Campaign. Its a Joke! All he would be doing is taking credit for other people's work in a wrong interpretation that meets an Environmentalist Agenda through Flase Awareness. Al Gore, Nobel Lauriet Candidate, who won't even Debate Experts in Climatology and Geology who have a strong counter arguement. God forbid that he may have to admit that he is wrong. He is not a worthy contender.

Look at the bigger picture instead of the Narrow-Minded Perspective of an Ultra Liberal Environmentalist talking heads. Get the facts of nature, and think for yourself.

State Tolling of Federal Interstate Highways

There are attempts by States to Toll existing Interstate Highways that were part of the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System that were originally funded and build with Federal Monies.

Pennsylvania Act 44 proposes turning control of I-80 over to the Privately operated Pennsylvania Turnpike from the PA DOT. This Act would permit the addition of tolls to I-80 across Pennsylvania's Northern Tier for the next 50 years. This is also a stop gap to fill a budget void and take the burden of on-going maintenance expenses off the State. This is wrong as this Highway is part of the original Interstate Highway System; however, its a Catch 22 on funding the reconstruction effort on the aging Highway.

Now Texas has a plan to do something similar to its Interstate Highways, and its US Senators are thinking otherwise:

Senators Introduce Legislation That Would Ban Tolls on Existing Interstates. A pair of US Senators move to block the Texas Department of Transportation from adding tolls to existing interstate freeways.Kay Bailey Hutchison, 8/30/07. US Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison(R-Texas) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) yesterday introduced legislationthat would ban the imposition of tolls on existing free interstatehighways. S. 2019 would "prohibit the imposition and collection oftolls on certain highways constructed using federal funds," byprohibiting the U.S. Secretary of Transportation from approving tollson existing federally-funded freeways.

Now if Pennsylvania US Senator, Arlan Spector, knows what good for him, he should get onboard with this.

In New York, the Section of I-84 across its Southeastern Tier was assumed the NYS Thruway Authority where they did not institute Tolling as on the Thruway's I-87 & I-90 because of the original Federal funding of I-84. Now the Thruway Authority has reached its own budget stop gap, and is likely to be returning control of I-84 back to the DOT. This approach was the correct action, and I hope that these Senators site the precedent set by another State in how they manage the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System to keep all sections originally built with Federal Funding Free of Tolls. Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe it is Article I Section 8-10 of the Constitution of the United States of America that covers this, namely Section 10 where it states:

No State shall, without the Consent of the Congress, lay any Imposts or Duties on Imports or Exports, except what may be absolutely necessary for executing it's inspection Laws: and the net Produce of all Duties and Imposts, laid by any State on Imports or Exports, shall be for the Use of the Treasury of the United States; and all such Laws shall be subject to the Revision and Control of the Congress.

In short, if I am interpretting these sections correctly, the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System is a Federally Funded Project initiated by an Act of Congress and thus should take an Act of Congress for any State to: A) Transition said highway to a Private Company (especially without just compensation), and/or B) Impose State taxes (tolls) on a Federal Funded Project.

I'm all for States Rights, but they cannot supercede Federal Statute and the Constitution of the United States.

Overall, he's been consistant on these issues, and has the record to prove it. Regarding his Pro-Life stance on Abortion, I do agree that Abortion should be left to the States to decide. However, I personally do not support Abortion except in cases of Rape, Incest, Abuse, and the Life of the Mother. This plays into my notion of "Freedom with Responsibility" and that one needs to take responsibility for those actions. Abortion is abused as a form of Birth Control and having a child is a great responsibility, and if your not willing to take that responsibility, Don't Do It! If you can't abstain or control yourself, there are proper forms of Birth Control available through pills, condoms, injections and surgery, but that is still no substitute for you not taking Responsibility in the matter when they fail to prevent a pregnancy.

With all due respect, President Calderon, they don't belong here illegally. Sure they come to find jobs -many of which are laborous, demeaning and/or don't pay well - and many of them send money back home to Mexico to support their families on the American Dollar since the Peso is barely worth the Paper its printed on. Others are here for more checkered reasons, and those are the one's we need to identify, stop, and deport.

What I protest is your Government's involvement in perpetuating Illegal Immigration by distributing information telling potential Border runners what they need to do when the get to America in order to exploit the system. I also protest the U.S. Government for continuing to complain about the problem yet allowing illegal immigrants to exploit these Taxpayer Funded services for non-Taxpayers.

Shit or get off the pot... Enforce the laws and plug the damn holes they are exploiting, but show flexibility for those with extenuating circumstances. NAFTA does not cover the free trade and export of Human Resources, regardless of Country of origin including Canada. If anyone from America entered any other country illegally, you bet your ass they'd be deported in a heartbeat once caught, and I don't hear anyone complaining about the immigration rules in other countries.

We need to plug these holes in the system to prevent illegal immigrants from exploiting the U.S. system and discourage illegal immigration. There should also be stiffer penalties for employers who knowingly employ illegals and for those that willfully assist illegals with false working papers. We need to convert their illegal status to a legal one with Green Cards and Work Visas. Why aren't we? We don't know exactly who and where they are, although the Census Bureau will have an idea soon with the next Census approaching. Employers probably have an idea, but Sponsoring someone's legal immigration can be an expensive and long process. They also fear coming out to seek legal status for fear of being deported based on a checkered background for themselves or someone in their family who is here with them. Admittedly, the existing rules need to be enforced, but those rules should allow for "extenuating circumstances" where a checkered background does not automatically exclude a person from legal status.

For starters:
1) There should be an Amnesty period for those here illegally and gainfully employed for both the Employer and Immigrant.
2) In such cases, the Employer would need to Sponsor said Immigrant for a Green Card and Work Visa changing their status to Legal.
3) These Employer/Immigrant sponsored work status requests should be fast tracked through INS.
4) Once the background check is passed and any issues mitigated, the Immigrant should be permitted to file for Citizenship should they choose, and this too should be Fast Tracked through INS.
5) If after the Amnesty Period, an Employer is found still employing Illegal immigrants, the Immigrant is immediately deported and the Employer brought up on charges accordingly under Immigration Law and those mandated by the Department of Homeland Security.

Secondly, I'm not sure a Border Fence will help much, but it would be a deterant. I would add to any such proposal a integration of the U.S. Military with Immigration, Border Police and Homeland Security. Make it mandatory for a Military Border Rotation where a soldier can receive the necessary training to properly patrol the borders and manage immigration on both the South and North Borders... Yes, even along the Canadian border. The Border Police are sorely under-staffed and under-equipped to patrol the entire border, and I'm sure there are active and reserve militiary units that need something to do other than manuevers when stateside. This would also be an opportunity for our Servicemen and women to receive additional training for a possible post-military career as a Border Agent.

This opinion comes courtasy of a second generation descendant of Immigrants from Mexico, Italy, Germany, and Poland who came to this Great Nation, the Land of Opportunity, LEGALLY! And, whom later became Naturalized Citizens of the Unites States of America after being able to speak/read American English... They were Proud to be an American which is something I cannot say for most immigrants (legal or not) these days. Instead, they have forced our schools to offer English as a Second Language courses and for instructions to be printed in multiple languages. I'm proud of my heritage, Yes, but I'm more proud to be an American and the sacrifices my (great-)grandparants made to become Citizens of the United States. If you're more proud of your country of origin, go back; otherwise, assimulate! I'm tired of telemarketers calling me "Senor" just because my last name is Hispanic in origin.

Its time to declare a National Language so there is one common standard - American English - and it should be a requirement for Citizenship. One could argue 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech, but that's a farce. Declaring a National Language does not impose restrictions on Free Speech, it only imposes a common tongue that we can all communicate by. Go ahead and speak your native tongue, just don't expect everyone to learn and understand it. Go ahead and fill out that Form, just don't expect to see instructions in your native tongue.

Citizenship has its privileges, and to become a Citizen you must be able to speak, read, and write in English. The test would not be offered in any other language or a translator be provided.

What's this Conservative Punk is all about...

I found some interesting on-line shtuff and took a few quizzes which seem to nail me correctly with about an 80% degree of accuracy.

The first is http://www.politichoice.com where I took a quiz to match my views up with the potential slate of 2008 Presidential Candidates. I was confused by this Mike Huckabee character whom I know little about, but was quite pleased with the second match of Fred Thompson. As much as I would like Thompson to run, I still have my concerns over his commitment and longevity will be, but I'm glad that he's running. I have a better connection with Fred because he's not a Political Hack, not just because of our shared views. Sure the guy's been in and out of Politics since the 1970's, but he didn't make a career out of it where his very livelihood was dependant on each election. He had a day job, and his career changed several times just like the average American. His straight talking demeanor is also a plus, and has not shown a "Holyier than thou" attitude like the other Candidates.

To be a true Libertarian, I would have to be a Northwesterner, which in my opinion is too Anarchist for my blood. They have too much of that "Free Will, Open Love, and Pro-Drug" tone. I do believe in a degree of Order and Drug Control, so fundamentally I am a Northerner which is to the Right of Libertarian and to the Left of Mainstream Conservative. This only reinforces my use of Conservative Punk to describe my views.

Valedictorian makes a Graduation Speech and invokes the name of Jesus Christ, and now the school is demanding an apology so she can receive her physical diploma. Regardless if it was not the place for the type of invocation... Regardless that it was an ad hoc addition to the rehearsed version... It was a 30 second speech, and not enough time for an Evangelical rant. It showed a young lady with enough character and integrity to bravely acknowledge her savior before her classmates. If she were Muslim and invoked Allah or Mohamed, or any other religious faith's icon for that matter, this would have gone unchallenged by the school administration. Instead because it was deeply Christian , the school is in gross violation of her First Amendment Right. But there's a double-standard for anyone of strong Judeo-Christian belief. To have her apologize would be to deny her savior and maker as Peter did in the Garden.

Okay, I'll be upfront here... I'm not a homophobe, but I don't agree with the lifestyle. This whole arguement over Gay Marriage just rubs me wrong, so I'm glad to see that Iowa was the latest State to pull the breaks... The definition of Marriage is that which is between a Man and Woman. STOP! However, I will side with you on this by saying a Legal Union or Domestic Partnership should be permitted in order to extend the same legal rights and privileges i.e. Insurance, Discounts, Benficiary Rights, etc. Now I respect your choice of lifestyle, but I'll be damned if I would agree to diluting the Sanctity of Marriage. The boys at Duke were falsely accused, Nifong was rightfully disbarred, and now he's been sentenced to 30 days and a $500 fine. Hurray! Now a retired British General is speaking out against U.S. Policy in Iraq. What is it with these Generals? Not just the British, but the American one's too. As far as I can see, the added language by the Department of Homeland Security to the Social Security Administration's discrepancy notification is reasonable and appropriate. Besides, these notices are nothing new. They were going out long before DHS was conceived, but because it contains more stern language from DHS regarding compliance its become a problem. The only problem I see is the AFL-CIO's attempt to stop it, and their concern makes me suspect they knowingly have illegal immigrants on their rolls and that 90 days to comply is not enough time to "fix" the discrepancies. Why isn't 90 days enough? This should be setting off bells and whistles at INS, IRS, and DHS to warrant an audit and close examination of their employment and payroll records. Something smells fishy, and by granting the AFL-CIO the temporary restraining order prohibiting these SSA notifications from being sent out, you have unwittingly bought them more time to "correct" the matter or find a bigger loop hole. In a day where compliance and audits are commonplace in many industries concerning things like HIPPA and Sarbanes-Oxley, I have not heard of anyone in the Medical or Information Technology field complain that 90 days was not enough to fix an audit finding... Hmmm... Both are very true, but together they negate each other to a point where you have to ask yourself:

• "Who are your true friends?"
• "Who can you trust unconditionally?"
• "Do they feel the same way about you?"

If you can answer those questions and are holding up more than 5 fingers counting, you may want to re-evaluate and count again.

Sometimes, all we have are our gut instincts... And Common Sense, but that's a rare quality that's lacking these days.

Its time to clean out the Congress and the Senate, and elect people with Chivalry and Honor for this Country and the people they were elected to serve.

I am here to tell the ACLU that there's a First and Second Amendment to the Constitution that they are allowing to be trampled. Whenever the First involves Religion, they back off and leave it to the Christian Right to fight. Whenever the Second involves Gun Control, they back off and leave it for the NRA. Instead, they should be there fighting side by side to protect our Bill of Rights.

I am here to tell Judges to stop Legislating from the Bench and follow the Laws and Constitution you were sworn to uphold.

I am here to tell the Environmentalists to take their version Global Warming and shove it! Yes, Global Warming is a Fact, but its a Natural Cycle... And we're coming up on the peak of the next cycle! We are wasting our Time and Money on trying to reduce Man's Carbon Footprint when it will do nothing for Mankind's survival through the Heat until the Ice Age that will follow. Global Warming as its defined by the Left is an Environmentalist Scare Tactic to acheive their Agenda, for better or worse. I agree that Cleaning up the Environment and alternative clean fuels is a good thing, but I'm a Conservationist... Not a Radical Environmentalist. We just don't know how hot it will get before the down swing, and we need to have provisions in place for both extremes.

I am here to tell the FDA that they need to provide incentives to Drug Manufacturers and their Research & Developement to Cure deseases rather than just treating. We have the technology and natural resources to cure and eliminate some diseases, but there's more money to be made treating the diseases over a longer period of time than in curing. Its time to speed up the R&D process by removing some of your own Red Tape that is slowing or shelving research for cures to many ailments.

I am here to tell Corporate America to bring our jobs back home and to stop sending jobs overseas in the name of Global Economics and Share Holder Dividends. Remember your roots that were founded here in America. Its American Jobs you should serve first. Its one thing if you can't fill a job with a qualified person in the States... Its another when you willfully Layoff qualified Americans to replace them cheaper, underqualified people overseas.

I am here to tell our Soldiers in the Military "Hoo-yah!" Get OBL, break Al-Quida and the Taliban, and "Come home with your shield or on it." I pray that you all come home safe, but if God comes calling, know that we thank you for your service and sacrifice in the name of God, Country, and Freedom.

Its time for us to "Shit or get off the Pot!"
