In the *Grumble* news...

This is the kind of Politically Correct double-standard crap that is defiling this Nation of its integrity...

Apologizing for Graduation Speech that shows Integrity and Character?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,295432,00.html
Valedictorian makes a Graduation Speech and invokes the name of Jesus Christ, and now the school is demanding an apology so she can receive her physical diploma. Regardless if it was not the place for the type of invocation... Regardless that it was an ad hoc addition to the rehearsed version... It was a 30 second speech, and not enough time for an Evangelical rant. It showed a young lady with enough character and integrity to bravely acknowledge her savior before her classmates. If she were Muslim and invoked Allah or Mohamed, or any other religious faith's icon for that matter, this would have gone unchallenged by the school administration. Instead because it was deeply Christian , the school is in gross violation of her First Amendment Right. But there's a double-standard for anyone of strong Judeo-Christian belief. To have her apologize would be to deny her savior and maker as Peter did in the Garden.

Good Riddance to Senator Craig.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,295457,00.html
Its no different than if he was busted with a female prostitute. He violated his marriage, broke the Law, and is a disgrace. He has no decency or integrity for the office he was elected to hold... Not to mention the complete disregard for his vow of marriage. At least he resignned and the Lincoln Bedroom is safe.

Top 5 songs you probably won't hear in the Craig house:
5) Queen's "Somebody to love"
4) Billy Joel's "The Stranger"
3) Aerosmith's "Dude looks like a Lady"
2) Kink's "Lola"
1) Rocky Horror's "Time Warp"

Unions, but not Marriage.
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070901/D8RCARCO0.html
Okay, I'll be upfront here... I'm not a homophobe, but I don't agree with the lifestyle. This whole arguement over Gay Marriage just rubs me wrong, so I'm glad to see that Iowa was the latest State to pull the breaks... The definition of Marriage is that which is between a Man and Woman. STOP! However, I will side with you on this by saying a Legal Union or Domestic Partnership should be permitted in order to extend the same legal rights and privileges i.e. Insurance, Discounts, Benficiary Rights, etc. Now I respect your choice of lifestyle, but I'll be damned if I would agree to diluting the Sanctity of Marriage. By calling it Gay Marriage, you are disrespecting my Traditional Marriage made before God. Legally its all the same, but Marriage is in the eyes of (g)God for the purpose of procreation regardless of one's Religion. Gay couples will not Procreate with one another - adoption and artificial means don't count as procreation. PERIOD! Stop insisting on calling it Marriage and maybe you'll get somewhere with changing the Laws and them staying that way.

Isn't the Cold War over, Mr. Putin?
http://en.rian.ru/russia/20070901/76058131.html

What gives? Deploying more Nukes, new and improved ones at that, for testing and exercises in Russia. Its like the Cold War is starting all over again, and the last 20 years have been declared null and void. Where is this in the mainstream media? Oh, wait... They are focused on Iran and North Korea having Nukes.

What about reparations to the falsely accused?
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8RCITJ00&show_article=1

The boys at Duke were falsely accused, Nifong was rightfully disbarred, and now he's been sentenced to 30 days and a $500 fine. Hurray! There is some justice left in this Nation, but these boys and their families were publicly and nationally humiliated in the court of public opinion. For that, his sentence was light as far as I'm concerned, so I would hope that the families civilly seek reparations against him and any associates involved in his witch hunt.

What happened to Treason and Confidentiality Agreements?http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/09/01/wmike101.xml

Now a retired British General is speaking out against U.S. Policy in Iraq. What is it with these Generals? Not just the British, but the American one's too. They retire, get a book deal for their Autobiography, and just such start talking trash... Besides, in this case, the U.S. Policy was backed by the British Prime Minister to whom he reported, so its the British Policy as well. The War isn't even over and both our soldiers are still over there fighting, and you are undermining them with your premature critique of the War. You should all be bound by Gag Orders and prevented from Profiteering from your experience for the duration of the War. Your actions and words border on Treasonous, and they demoralize your Countries and the legacy of soldiers you left behind while increasing the morale of your enemies! Shut the hell up already!

Where is your precedent to stop Social Security Immigration Notices?http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070901/ap_on_bi_ge/immigrant_employers_lawsuit_1
As far as I can see, the added language by the Department of Homeland Security to the Social Security Administration's discrepancy notification is reasonable and appropriate. Besides, these notices are nothing new. They were going out long before DHS was conceived, but because it contains more stern language from DHS regarding compliance its become a problem. The only problem I see is the AFL-CIO's attempt to stop it, and their concern makes me suspect they knowingly have illegal immigrants on their rolls and that 90 days to comply is not enough time to "fix" the discrepancies. Why isn't 90 days enough? This should be setting off bells and whistles at INS, IRS, and DHS to warrant an audit and close examination of their employment and payroll records. Something smells fishy, and by granting the AFL-CIO the temporary restraining order prohibiting these SSA notifications from being sent out, you have unwittingly bought them more time to "correct" the matter or find a bigger loop hole. In a day where compliance and audits are commonplace in many industries concerning things like HIPPA and Sarbanes-Oxley, I have not heard of anyone in the Medical or Information Technology field complain that 90 days was not enough to fix an audit finding... Granted, we don't always like it, but we do it on time.

Two things to remember:

  • Keep your Friends close, but keep your Enemies closer.
  • Who needs Enemies when you have Friends?
Hmmm... Both are very true, but together they negate each other to a point where you have to ask yourself:

  • "Who are your true friends?"
  • "Who can you trust unconditionally?"
  • "Do they feel the same way about you?"
If you can answer those questions and are holding up more than 5 fingers counting, you may want to re-evaluate and count again.

Sometimes, all we have are our gut instincts... And Common Sense, but that's a rare quality that's lacking these days.
